Undergraduate opportunities

The Oden Institute offers several programs for undergraduate students to explore the field of computational science and engineering. Through these programs, students have the opportunity to take courses and complete projects in the field and get involved in research with faculty, postdocs, and graduate students at the Oden Institute. These opportunities are intended to be a springboard for students to pursue graduate study in computational science and engineering, with highly qualified students encouraged to apply to the CSEM Program.

Carey Scholarship

The Graham F. Carey Computational Science Scholarship is a $2,500 scholarship awarded annually to a UT Austin undergraduate student who shows a demonstrated interest in Computational Science and Engineering.

This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate senior working on research with Oden Institute faculty at the University of Texas at Austin.

The BS CS / MS CSEM Integrated Degree Program enables highly talented students with strong academic records to earn a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Science in Computational Science, Engineering, and Mathematics (BS CS / MS CSEM) within a five-year period.
