Hewei Tang

Biography

Dr. Hewei Tang is a tenure-track assistant professor at UT-Austin. Before joining UT, she was a staff scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). She received a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University and held post-doctoral positions with Rice University and LLNL. Dr. Tang serves as an executive editor of Geoenergy Science and Engineering and a co-chair of the Technical Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Data of the American Rock Mechanics Association (ARMA). Her current research interests include data assimilation, uncertainty quantification, and deep learning-based surrogate modeling for subsurface multiphase flow.
