Jessy Li is an Associate Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin. She received her Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
Prof. Li's research interests are in computational linguistics and natural language processing. In particular, her research focuses on computational models for discourse processing and pragmatic reasoning, fine-grained evaluation of language models, as well as natural language and code generation. She is a recipient of an NSF CAREER Award, ACL and EMNLP Outstanding Paper Awards, an ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award, among other honors.
Prof. Li is on the leadership team of the NSF-Simons CosmicAI Institute, and served as the Secretary of the Nations of the Americas Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics (NAACL, 2024-2025).
