Associate Professor Mechanical Engineering
Dr. Mayu Muramatsu received her Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Keio University in 2011. She began her research career as a researcher at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) from 2012 to 2013. From 2014 to 2017, she served as an assistant professor at Tohoku University. Since 2018, she has been affiliated with department of mechanical engineering in Keio University, first as a senior assistant professor and, since 2022, as an associate professor.
The research of her group focuses on multiphysics in a broad spectrum of materials including metals, polymers and ceramics. Specifically, the group conducts mathematical modeling and numerical simulation of materials for functional devices such as fuel cells by coupling the mechanical behavior with other phenomena and/or bridging different scale phenomena. Her group also has interests in experimental validation of simulation models and development of new CAE techniques using machine learning and quantum computer.
