Postdoctoral Fellow Center for Numerical Analysis
Simon Dirckx is a Postdoctoral Researcher working with Prof. Gunnar Martinsson's research group in numerical analysis and computational mathematics. He earned his PhD in Computational Mathematics from KU Leuven, working with Daan Huybrechs and Karl Meerbergen. He earned a masters in Pure Mathematics with a focus on Functional Analysis and a masters in Computational Mathematics with a focus on Riemannian optimization and structured matrix algorithms at the KU Leuven.
Dr. Dirckx's main research interests are compact representations of PDE&BIE operators, parametrized systems, tensor decompositions, randomized linear algebra, domain decompositions, large-scale & high performance computing and (set-valued) rational approximation.
