Graduate Student Oden Institute
In 2019, William commenced graduate studies at the Oden Institute for Computational Science, Engineering, and Mathematics. Prior to this, he completed a concurrent bachelor's and master's program in applied mathematics at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is working with Professor Philip J. Morrison on computational methods in plasma physics. Broadly speaking, their work leverages the Hamiltonian structure of the equations of motion for plasmas, such as the magnetohydrodynamic or Maxwell-Vlasov equations, in order to design discretization schemes that respect this structure.
