Biography

Andrés obtained his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Michigan State University in 2023 under the direction of Dr. Yingda Cheng. He studied the applicability of post-processing techniques to discontinuous Galerkin solutions to the Vlasov-Maxwell system. Andrés worked three years at the Oden Institute, first as a Peter O'Donnel jr postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Irene Gamba at the Applied Mathematics Group and the Center for Numerical Analysis, after two years Andrés worked as a postdoctoral fellow under the mentorship of Prof. Robert Moser at the PECOS research center. Currently Andrés is a postdoctoral fellow at the Mathematics department at Southern Methodist University. His research is aimed at developing and analyzing numerical methods for solving kinetic equations from plasma physics and radiation phenomena.
