Biography

Puneet Singh joined UT Austin as an Assistant Professor in Summer 2026. He received his doctorate in Rotorcraft Aeromechanics from the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2020. Prior to his appointment, he spent 6 years in the eVTOL industry (Overair Inc. & Archer Aviation) working in aircraft design, flight dynamics, control laws, modeling and simulation, flight testing, loads and dynamics.

Dr. Singh's primary research areas are aero-servo-elasticity, flight controls and multidisciplinary aircraft design optimization. His work in Lagrangian fluid dynamics methods like the viscous vortex particle method has enabled fast, unsteady, high fidelity computational aerodynamics to be used in advanced rotorcraft configurations for flight dynamics and loads analyses. By leveraging his experience in the aerospace industry, he is building new computational tools and methods to solve novel challenges for modern aircraft designs.
