University of Texas at Austin

On September 21, the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences celebrated its 50th anniversary, hosting a full-day symposium held at The University of Texas at Austin. The celebration recognized the history of the Institute and its contribution in establishing the field of computational science and engineering, dating back to J. Tinsley Oden's founding of the Texas Institute for Computational Mechanics (TICOM) in 1973. As we celebrated our legacy, we examined the critical challenges of the future and redoubled our commitment to outstanding interdisciplinary research.
