In September, the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences will celebrate 50 years of leadership in interdisciplinary research and education!
We are recognizing this momentous occasion with a full-day symposium to be held at The University of Texas at Austin campus on Thursday, September 21, 2023. We plan for the symposium to recognize the history of the Institute and its contribution in establishing the field of computational science and engineering, dating back to J. Tinsley Oden's founding of the Texas Institute for Computational Mechanics (TICOM) in 1973. As we celebrate our legacy, we will also examine the critical challenges of the future and redouble our commitment to outstanding interdisciplinary research.
