Associate Professor Diagnostic Medicine
Dr. Virostko received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt University. Following his Ph.D. he completed a Masters of Science in Clinical Investigation. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science. Dr. Virostko arrived in Austin in 2016 to join the Dell Medical School.
Dr. Virostko works at the interface of engineering and medicine, with an emphasis on medical imaging. He performs translational research and collaborates with diverse networks bridging bench to bedside. The goal of his research is to develop and implement quantitative imaging biomarkers to investigate the pathogenesis of diabetes and cancer and evaluate treatment response. He is also interested in exploring the link between cancer, obesity, and diabetes using medical imaging.
