Postdoctoral Fellow Center for Computational Oncology
Elisa Serafini is a biomedical researcher with an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin (October 2022) and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics earned through a joint program between La Rochelle University and the Houston Methodist Research Institute (December 2025). Her doctoral work focused on mathematical modeling and computational biomechanics of fluids and solids, with an emphasis on developing and validating models that integrate imaging‑derived anatomy with biological and biomechanical data to address challenges in cancer and cardiovascular research. She is highly motivated to apply her computational expertise to postdoctoral research on digital twins for virtual clinical trials in oncology. Beyond academia, her lifelong dedication to track and field has shaped the discipline, resilience, and attention to detail that she brings to science.
